Erin Hoover is an interior design and branding leader, focused on creating impactful spaces and experiences. Her diverse background includes work in the hospitality, luxury retail and entertainment industries for a wide range of brands, from Fortune 500 to startups.
I believe that if you’re curious, willing to work hard and show up on time, opportunities find you. I’ve worked on many inspiring projects, including exhibits at the Costume Institute at the Met, the reinvention of the Sony Building, and more recently, Giorgio Armani and Starwood. My career path has been defined by my passion for great design and the spirit of innovation, not a specific industry or discipline. I believe design thinking transcends industries and categories, and I look for projects that will challenge me as a designer, creative thinker and leader.
Hospitality design is the perfect expression of 24-7 brand storytelling. Everything we design is an opportunity to create a memorable experience for the guest, and inspire an emotional connection to the brand. Designing for hospitality spaces allowed me to apply and expand my knowledge of branding and experiential design gained through my time at Giorgio Armani and other brands.Featured Hospitality Project
My interest in fashion history and design led to working in house for Giorgio Armani for nearly a decade. Our focus at Giorgio Armani was on conveying his brand narrative, through the lens of the Armani aesthetic. Mr. Armani’s vision and drive for excellence continues to inspire me as a designer. After leaving Armani, I applied my knowledge of branding and design for retail spaces in consultant projects for other fashion brands, including Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Reiss and others.Featured Retail Project
Exhibits, events and visual display allowed me to develop an intuitive sense of how to use interior design, color, texture and lighting to create memorable experiences. These projects require quick problem-solving and improvisational skills. Experiential design has also been a way for me to quickly test out ideas that can then be applied to other, longer term projects.Featured Experiential Design Project
